About the Event
On July 23, the Korea Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) hosted the 2024 International Dialogue on North Korean Human Rights.
This conference brought together scholars, experts, and officials to share the reality of North Korean human rights with the international community and to expand international solidarity for improving human rights in North Korea as 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of publishing the report titled “Report of the Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in North Korea” by the United Nations Commission of Inquiry (COI) on North Korean Human Rights.
The conference featured remarks from Minister Yung Ho Kim, Ministry of Unification (TBC), Dr. John Hamre, CSIS President and CEO, and Langone Chair in American Leadership, Mr. Damon Wilson, President and CEO of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and Ambassador Hyun Dong Cho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the United States.
