Washington, D.C., March 31, 2025 – The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is pleased to announce that it has received a clean (unqualified) audit opinion on its financial statements for Fiscal Year 2024, continuing a record of more than ten years of clean audits.
“This milestone reflects NED’s steadfast commitment to financial integrity, operational excellence, and strong internal controls,” said Damon Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer of NED. “As America’s foundation for freedom, NED is proud to be a model of efficient, effective grantmaking that serves our nation.”
“For more than a decade, these clean audits have affirmed NED’s role as a disciplined steward of taxpayer dollars ,” said Jessica Adelman, the Chair of NED’s Budget, Audit, and Administration Committee. “The Board takes its oversight and fiduciary responsibilities seriously. We believe NED’s accountability to elected officials and the public is essential to maintaining the bipartisan trust that underpins our work.”
The audit, conducted by Grant Thornton, found no material misstatements or significant deficiencies. Additionally, the Uniform Guidance (UG) report recorded no findings and classified NED as a “low-risk” entity. These results affirm NED’s commitment to financial integrity, accountability, and adherence to regulatory standards.
